A RETAILER from Broadway has been awarded a £1,200 bursary to attend a retail summer school at Oxford University.
Adrian Lockstone, director of Landmark Stores, was selected by joint bursary providers Skillsmart Retail, the sector skills council for the retail industry, and the Retail Trust. The six-day summer school will finish tomorrow.
The annual British Shops and Stores Association summer school, first held in 1923, is one of the jewels in the crown of UK retailing.
Mr Lockstone, a mechanical engineer by trade, became joint director of Landmark Stores after changing his career to retail sales. He highlighted marketing strategies and merchandising as key issues.
