A MAN in a dispute with his neighbours had to be restrained when police arrived, Worcester magistrates heard.
Michael Gilks, aged 38, of Mountbatten Road, Malvern, admitted threatening behaviour when he appeared in court.
Prosecutor Mark Soper said police were called to Mountbatten Road at about 8.15pm on August 14 and found Gilks leaning against a car with his shirt off, holding a can of lager.
"He tried to start a fight and one of the policemen told him he had one last chance to go inside but he didn't," he said. He was then arrested.
Martha Recordon, for Gilks, said: "He had been assaulted by a neighbour who punched him eight times and he was clearly very annoyed," she said. "His partner had also been assaulted by another neighbour."
She said he was angry because he felt the police were not dealing with the neighbourhood dispute. He now regrets his behavior and has apologised to the officer.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £43 costs.
