HOW I empathise with the writer of the letter entitled 'Idle Conversation' (Your Letters, September 1).
My husband died 11 months ago and I cannot count the number of times I have heard that I must come for coffee and that I will be telephoned, but it does not happen. I now feel these people are very shallow and that I do not wish to waste my time on them.
