HISTORY and family fun was combined at a village celebration.
Six months of research and planning by Hallow local history group, supported by the village community group, ended in a day of events blessed with blazing hot weather.
With the help of Worcester records office, villagers have traced the history of the green and properties around it, some dating back to the 15th century.
And once the hard work was over, the researchers made the day a truly traditional celebration of midsummer with Severn Valley Brass Band playing in the shade of the turkey oak tree.
Hallow School maypole dancers then performed to music played by Fox’s Morris.
The entertainment was interspersed with guided tours around the green sharing villagers’ discoveries. Various games and refreshments were also enjoyed.
