DROITWICH Dolphins booked a place in the finals of the Nuneaton Junior League with a convincing win at Rugby Leisure Centre.

A confident team competed against five other clubs to try and improve their current position of third in the division.

The Droitwich under 10 girls won a maximum 36 points with individual wins for Teri Woodhouse (2), Claire Humphreys and Chloe Glover. They were joined by Alex Scott and Juliet Mourino for the relays.

Not to be outdone, the Spa under 12 boys also achieved maximum points with two individual wins each for Sam Cave and Aaron Biddle.

They were joined in the relays by Sam Heywood and two under 11’s Joe Essery and Tim Quiney.

The club’s under 11 boys, Matthew Redfern, Oliver Jones, Essery and Quiney, and the under 12 girls, Ruth Hadley, Samantha Geary, Rachel Bradley and Anna Dowty, also swam particularly well, dropping only three points each.

Other individual Droitwich wins went to Chris Osborne, Tom Dean, Hadley (2), Quiney, Geary, and Essery (2).

There were also relay wins for the under nine girl’s freestyle team of Elle Mortimer, Hayley Juhasz, Megan Oswell and Elena Davison, while the under nine boys medley team of James Clews, Osborne, Bradley Rushden and Theo Groves, were also successful.

The Dolphins also managed to win all three of the canon events.

The finals will take place in September in Wolverhampton where the Droitwich team will try and secure promotion to Division One.
