YOUNG parents and mums and dads-to-be will be able to see what type of support and advice is available to them at a special free event next week.

The session held in Evesham will allow people to become familiar with the range of different agencies and services on offer such as education and training, employment, housing, health and childcare and parenting.

Agencies already signed up include Orchard Vale, Spring Vale and Apple Vale children's centres, Connexions, Jobcentre Plus, Citizens Advice Bureau, Time 4 U, National Childbirth Trust, and Evesham Leisure Centre.

Other activities on offer throughout the morning include canvas hand prints, T-shirt designing, nail art, nearly new sale of children's clothes and toys, raffle, bounce and rhyme, story-telling as well as a free crèche.

Karen Green, Orchard Vale Children's Centre manager, said: "We successfully held this event last year, with approximately 50 young parents enjoying a range of activities.

“We hope this year will be just as successful, and we are looking forward to meeting everyone.

“The Young Parents Group themselves have helped with the planning and organising of this event, and will be helping the children's centre on the day with some of the activities."

The event will take place at Wallace House, next to Evesham Library, from 10am until 1pm on Tuesday.
