FORMER England squash player Vicky Hynes has helped introduce the sport to Droitwich Spa leisure centre.

Following the recent news that Englishman Nick Matthew has taken the world number one spot in squash, leisure centre staff are capitalising on the surge in the popularity of both squash and racketball.

The centre is working with governing body England Squash and Racketball to offer coaching to adults and juniors in the community. Vicky has introduced racketball to a group of keen adults to help them get the best out of the sport.

Pupils from Droitwich Spa High School have also been trying squash for the first time, thanks to Vicky, and picked up the game really quickly.

Rob Dufty, duty manager at Droitwich Spa leisure centre, said: “I play in the Worcestershire Squash League and am pleased to see coaching at the centre in both squash and racketball, as these sports are great fun and an excellent way to keep fit.”
