BBC Hereford and Worcester will help boost the local music scene when it takes part in Bromyard's Nozstock Festival.

BBC Introducing - the Friday night show hosted by Andrew Marston - will kick start its summer festival season tomorrow and host its own stage at Nozstock.

Nine of the best under the radar bands from across Herefordshire & Worcestershire have been chosen to play at the festival, after sending their music into the station through the BBC Introducing Uploader - www.bbc.co.uk/introducing.

It's not the first time the radio station has hosted a stage at the rural event. For the last two years, the BBC Introducing Friday Session has chosen the artists to perform in the Dingle Area.

This year they are moving to the Garden Stage.

"Nozstock is great little festival, attracting around 5000 people every year," said Andrew, who presents BBC Introducing... at 7pm every Friday.

"It started as a family barbeque 13 years ago - and has now grown into a huge licensed event attracting big names like Phill Jupitus and The Blockheads, Sub Focus and High Contrast.

"We really think the artists we've chosen this year are ones to watch out for in the future - and will give the headliners a run for their money."

Artists performing are Hereford rock band Tramps Like Us; Worcester pop group Skewwhiff; Worcestershire rockers November & The Criminal; Pershore hip hop reggae collective The SpoonFedz; Herefordshire & Worcestershire bluegrass outfit Kentucky Fryd; Ledbury fiddle-punksters The Bleeding Hearts; Bewdley dance producer Monster! Monster!; Hereford driving rock group Aulos, and Tillington electronica duo Muchuu.
