A SCHOOL had an awardwinning end to its term when it picked up a top gong for learning.

Clifton upon Teme Primary School was named the winner of the Learners of the Year category in the UniServity Learning Platform Awards for Excellence, held by internet learning company UniServity.

Earlier in the term, the school also picked up a Go4it award for innovation, entrepreneurialism and employability.

The school was one of five in the county to be commended with awards.

The others were Dines Green Primary School, Oldbury Park School, Pebworth First School and Pitmaston Primary School.

Debbie Mitchell, headteacher of Clifton upon Teme Primary, said she was proud of the hard work put in by staff and pupils.

“We are a small school but we have lots of ambition and a positive outlook to giving children the best opportunities we can,” she said.

“We try to be innovative and forward-thinking as a school.

“I am really proud of the children and what they have achieved.”
