WORCESTER locals are invited to join actor Kai Owen in a two-day national collection to raise money for charity.

The Torchwood star, patron of children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent, aims to help raise £200,000 for Tesco's Charity of the Year 2010.

The collection will take place in Tesco stores across Worcester on Friday 10 and Saturday December 11, and CLIC Sargent is looking for volunteer co-ordinators to give a day's help oversee it.

Co-ordinators will encourage friends and family to man the buckets with them on the day, count the money collected and then pay it in at their local bank.

Money raised will contribute to the partnership’s goal of £5m to help children with cancer spend more time at home and less time in hospital.
