A TEARFUL Cher Lloyd tonight made it through to the live X Factor shows despite being struck down by tonsillitis.
The plucky 17-year-old from Malvern Link was given the shock news by mentor Cheryl Cole who had seen potential in her duriung her very first audition.
On yesterday’s show Cher had left her latest audition in floods of tears after her voice let her down during a rendition of an R Kelly number.
She had been given a second chance by Cheryl and Black Eyed Peas singer Will.I.am but ended with a croaked “I’m done”.
Nevertheless the Geordie judge decided to put her faith in the youngster and sent her through to the live finals next week.
Cher is tipped for the win by bookies but doesn’t expect an easy ride up against a number of other strong singers in her own category and those of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue.
