MALVERN’S newest singing sensation has been the hot topic of conversation since she was sensationally put through to the X Factor live finals.

Millions of people were watching as Cher Lloyd was put through by judge Cheryl Cole on Sunday night – and millions woke up to find her splashed across the front of many national newspapers yesterday morning.

The media frenzy around the 17-year-old, of Malvern Link, picked up steam after Cher was put through to the finals of the competition despite not being able to perform because of a combination of tonsillitis and nerves.

But Cheryl – a number one selling artist – decided to put her through on the strength of what she had seen before.

“I think Cher fell apart on Sunday,” Cheryl admitted to Konnie Huq on ITV2’s Xtra Factor. “But when I went back to when I first saw her, I was buzzing.

“And then when I watched her at bootcamp, she was amazing.”

Now the whole of Worcestershire is hoping the former Chase High School and Dyson Perrins High School student can go the distance and perform as well as we – and Cheryl – know she can.

Your Worcester News is urging readers to vote for Cher in her battle for the X Factor crown.
