TEENAGE singing sensation Cher Lloyd caused a stir for star-struck staff when she visited a Worcester shop.

Cher popped into trendy shop Bank in Worcester High Street today to buy an outfit for the London premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Some staff were a little star-struck but others said they were used to her making an appearance there as Bank is Cher’s favourite shop.

Sales assistant Amy Gunnery, aged 19, said: “She walked in and I was looking at her. I had to look at her again and it was like ‘oh my God!’ It was really odd but she was so nice and she even gave me a hug. She had her hair in a massive bun at the back and she had a quiff at the front. She was exactly the same as she was on television.

“I was talking about the people who diss her and she just said ‘haters are motivators’. She just carried on looking around as if she was one of us.”

Cher was wearing a body warmer, a long khaki top, military-style boots and carried a leopard print handbag.

It is understood Cher was with members of her family but your Worcester News was not able to confirm this at the time we went to press.

Fiona Dobbs, aged 26, the store’s assistant manager, said Cher was given a nude pink and gold one-shoulder dress worth £40 by Ribbon and also a cream fluffy jacket by Iska, also worth £40.

Cher also wanted a Paul’s Boutique pink glitter purse worth £30 but insisted on paying for this herself.

Miss Dobbs said: “She told us she didn’t want to take advantage of our generosity. She is a huge fan of her branded clothes and Bank is the best place in Worcester to go for that. She has been coming here since she was 13 or 14 years old.”

Sales assistant Chris Newton, aged 20, said: “She had a bit of a chat about Text Factor at Sin and how she had gone from that to being on the national stage and how it was such a big jump.

"She didn’t even win Text Factor which we had a bit of a laugh about as now she is in the final nine of X Factor.

"We were also talking about the premiere of the new Harry Potter film. She is a really nice girl and she told me she didn’t get much time with her family.

"This was her first day without the cameras and the security around her.

"She really enjoyed spending the day with family.”

X Factor contestants all had a day off on Tuesday, a show source confirmed.
