WORCESTER citizens have the keys to the door of their twin city in America, thanks to visit by Lord Faulkner to the city’s namesake in Massachusetts earlier this year when civic leaders gave him the ceremonial key.
Earlier this month it was handed over to mayor Mike Layland at the Guildhall and now rests on display in the parlour. A scroll accompanying the key was also presented, signed by the state’s senator.
Coun Layland said: “We’re continuing to build strong links and it’s an honour to accept the city’s keys and the senate citation.”
