ESTABLISHED acts and complete beginners will compete on the Worcester’s Got Talent stage this evening.

The contest, taking place at Sin in New Street in association with your Worcester News, is now in its fourth week.

A total of 14 acts will battle it out tonight to secure a place in the next round and take one step closer to getting their hands on some of the £5,000 prize money.

Inspired by the TV show Britain’s Got Talent, the Worcester show puts acts of every calibre on stage in front of three judges, as well as a live audience.

Competition organiser Paul Todd has no say in who goes through and loves to watch the drama unfold.

He said: “While the contest is heavily weighed this week alone, we’ve got two live bands coming along, a couple of really unique soloists, and a dancer.

“Singer Tina V fronts a band called This Wicked Tongue and in the past couple of years she’s been gigging everywhere.

“She’s working hard and I think she could make it big one day.”

Other acts due to perform tonight include Malvern-based blues outfit Dr Stanley’s Medicine Show, rock band Into the Fire and singer/songwriter Lewis Spelt Backwards, who performed at this year’s Worcester Music Festival.

There is still time for people to enter the contest, but application forms must be handed in before Friday.

To enter, fill out the application form here or pick one up from Sin bar.
