A 64-year-old NHS delivery driver has been find a total of £950 for jumping a traffic light at roadworks.
Philip Reynolds had already admitted driving without due care and attention, failing to report an accident and failing to stop at the scene.
Reynolds was in a traffic queue on a delivery job in Fernhill Heath, Worcester, in February and decided to jump the lights because he thought they were taking too long to change.
In jumping the queue he hit the car at the front as it pulled away.
He claimed to have sat through “four or five” light change cycles but said he was “sorry”, for his actions.
He was given eight penalty points for failing to report the accident, with another eight for driving without due care. Only the first eight points go on the driver’s licence.
