Yesterday was the busiest day for the West Midlands Ambulance Service since regional records began.
The service provided 3941 emergency responses throughout the West Midlands to reports of breathing problems, road accidents, slips, trips and falls mainly caused by the bad weather.
More calls were taken yesterday than the last three consecutive New Year's Eves and Days, which are traditionally the busiest time for the ambulance service.
Approximately 120 more responses were sent out yesterday compared to New Year's Eve last year.
