TONIGHT'SWorcester News Carol Service at Worcester Cathedral has been cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions.

The event has been cancelled for safety reasons.

Worcester News editor Kevin Ward said: "We have not taken this decision lightly but we have to consider the safety of the hundreds of readers due to attend the carol service.

"With roads and pavements in such a poor state and with more snow forecast we think it would be wrong to expect people to take the risk of travelling to the service.

"We apologise to everyone with free tickets to the service but we are sure readers will understand the decision."

The cathedral's carol services tomorrow and Thursday at 7.30pm are still on. Entry is free.
