A WORCESTER man has pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of his then girlfriend.
Scott Smith, of Carlisle Road, is accused of trying to kill 19-year-old Kirsty Holmes at a house in Ronkswood on Sunday, January 16.
Miss Holmes was taken to hospital on that date with stab wounds to her head and neck.
Smith showed no emotion as he entered the plea at Worcester Crown Court.
There was an intake of breath from a member of the packed public gallery as it was announced the 21-year-old would not stand trial until Tuesday, November 22, at Worcester Crown Court.
He was remanded into custody.
