BUDDING chefs have been getting busy at a Worcester youth centre to mark the opening of their new kitchen.

The Streets Ahead Youth Club in Gresham Road, Dines Green, hosted a Ready, Steady, Cook style event where youngsters prepared a three-course meal for guest judges.

Two teams went head-to-head to impress the panel, which included community support officers from the local policing team, youth workers and members of staff from the Green Centre.

Youth worker Janine Andres said the event was enjoyed by all.

She said: “It was good for members of the community to come together. Since we got the new kitchen the kids are really keen to get in there and do as much cooking as possible.

“Each team had to cook a three-course meal on a budget of £10 so the judges had six courses to get through.”

The youth club runs on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
