A MAN has been attacked and robbed on the way home from a night out.
The man was walking back from a night out in Evesham in the early hours of Sunday morning when he was hit on the head by his attacker, or attackers.
He was woken up by some concerned people a while later to discover his blue Animal wallet and mobile phone - a Nokia touch screen with pink backing - were missing.
The man - who did not see who attacked him - went home that night, but went to hospital in the morning to have his facial injuries treated.
Police are now appleaing for witnesses to the incident, which happened in Briar Close between 1am and 1.30am.
Detective Constable Jon Newton, investigating, said: “This is a serious incident in which a man has suffered nasty facial injuries.
“He would have been fairly distinguishable as he walked home though Evesham town centre as he was wearing a small straw hat and a red and black checked shirt.
“I am appealing for anyone who saw this man assaulted or has any information on the incident to get in touch.
“I am also keen to hear from the two people who stopped to check he was okay.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0300 333 3000, quoting 707/S/050611, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
