OUR vice-president Pat Smith took the meeting and best wishes for a speedy recovery were sent to secretary Marion. Pat announced that places are still available to Weston-super-Mare on July 6.

The newsletters will be given out at president Jean’s lunch next week. The skittles team has been entered for next winter’s competition.

The resolutions were discussed concerning libraries and there is no good reason to close them.

Droitwich has an excellent one which covers all kinds of activities as well as books. Everyone voted for this resolution.

The second resolution was about mega farms. There was a long discussion over these, it seems that animal welfare becomes the last concern. We were all against the practice of factory farming and urged the government to ensure planning permission is not granted for such projects.

A quiz and tea followed and further interesting subjects were covered.
