RECENT meetings have been busy, enjoyable and full of interest. Memories of childhood playground games were recalled by John Turrell in his fascinating talk. It was surprising what we dredged out of long-forgotten memories but we did not recite some of the more questionable versions we used to know. Nor did we manage to skip, but it was a lovely evening.

At the May meeting, Julia Roberts was congratulated on her very successful three years as county chairman and more were offered on her election to the national board of trustees.

Congratulations were also given to Poppy and Malcolm on their engagement.

The resolutions were presented by Marion Cumella and there was spirited discussion.

The evening continued with an Irish raffle and refreshments. The competition for a humorous resolution was won by Poppy with a pointed request to abolish roadside picnics on verges on safety grounds.

We are continuing to enjoy our 90th birthday year with coming events including a tea party on August 6, leading up to the big celebration in October.
