PLAY days in the park have proved fun for kids – and great for building communities.
More than 300 people attended the HeART of Play event at Brickfields Park, the final play ranger project – a lotteryfunded scheme which had run for two-and-a-half years at Cripplegate Park and Brickfields Park, also known as King George V playing field.
For the final play ranger event at Brickfields Park, children were kept busy face painting, building dens and learning circus skills – but the success of the days has extended beyond the young people it has been aimed at.
Play ranger Fatima Kemili said: “Play ranger days have got the community together and people are actually making friends because of them.”
