MORE than 100 fund-raisers have taken part in the sixth annual Dawn til Dusk walk to help a Worcester hospice.

Last year, the 31-mile trek along the Worcestershire Way raised £18,000 for St Richard’s Hospice with 68 walkers completing the challenge.

Yesterday, 111 walkers set out from Bewdley at 6am and started making their way through to the Malvern Hills .

Event organiser Rachel Jones said: “The route passes through a marvellous landscape, studded with copses, streams and woodlands, giving walkers unparalleled views of some of the best countryside the county has to offer.”

Walkers were expected to complete the walk in about 12 hours but some may not have finished until after 10pm.

Members of the Abberley WI made cakes and drinks for the trekkers as they passed through the village.
