A HOLIDAY-maker returned home to find that his car windscreen had been smashed by vandals.

Now Serkan Koruk is appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward after police told him there was nothing they could do without eye witness evidence.

Mr Koruk, aged 30, had enjoyed a two week holiday in Turkey with his girlfriend and returned to his home in Sansome Mews, off The Tything, Worcester, to find his Peugeot 206 had been vandalised.

The car was left in a private car park, set back from the main road and he had asked a neighbour to keep an eye on his house and vehicle.

Mr Koruk said the damage will cost about £180 to repair.

“After spending two weeks on holiday it is the last thing you want to come home to. It is very frustrating and upsetting. The car was parked in a private car park so you don’t expect this sort of thing to happen. One of my neighbours phoned police when they noticed the damage and I called them as soon as I got back.

“All they told me was that if nobody had seen the vandals cause the damage then there wasn’t much that they could do about it. It is not a very nice feeling when you come home and find you have been a victim of crime while on holiday.”

Mr Koruk is now hoping that someone may have seen the car windscreen being smashed or people behaving suspiciously in the area between June 8 and 23.

His nextdoor neighbour reported the damage to the police on Sunday, June 19, so is likely to have happened overnight on Saturday, June 18. A West Mercia Police spokesman urged witnesses to call 0300 333 3000 quoting 162/N/190611.
