A body painter is hoping for a brush with success when she tests her skills at the world championships in Austria.

Sarah-Ashleigh Attwell is jetting off to compete in the Body Painting World Championships which run from today until next Tuesday after coming second in the student category last year.

The former Droitwich Spa High School pupil studied fine art at A-level and completed a HND in specialist make up at West Thames College in London. Her love of body painting began when she started doing face painting for children.

“My first love is body painting, which developed on from face painting during a module in my course.

"I also love make up and beauty and have worked for MAC in Selfridges in London where I learned a huge amount about make up and skin care.

“I have since been building a portfolio with different photographers and models.

“The first round of the championships is on Friday when we paint all day and are judged at the end of the day and must qualify to paint in the final on Sunday.

"There are different categories ranging from the student category to the brush and sponge world award.

"Each day is themed and artists have to produce an original design based on the theme.

“Last year I took part in the student category and came second. I really loved it so have decided this year to take part in the brush and sponge world award.”
