THE meeting held on Thursday, August 18, was the annual strawberry tea held at Wyre Mill Club by kind permission of its committee.
More than 30 people attended and following the meal there was a surprise and very welcome visit from Worcester MP Robin Walker.
He talked about the recent problems on some city streets about which everyone has been very concerned.
Then he told us about the various initiatives he had been pleased to take an interest in around Worcester.
These include new businesses and employment, especially of young people and of the various charities recently started in the area.
He was enthusiastically applauded and spent some time with members and their friends answering their questions.
I must apologise for the error in July report when I mistakenly typed RSPCA.
In fact Ray Sturdy gave his talk in aid of the NSPCC, a charity which he has supported for many years.
The next luncheon will be at Fownes Hotel on Thursday, October 6, when the speaker will be Rosemary Prosser with the intriguing title One Egg or Two.
