A MAN caught “bouncing off parked cars” outside a Worcester nightclub has narrowly avoided being sent to prison.

Wayne Frankum, aged 20, had already been told to go home by police officers when he was caught, Worcester Magistrates Court was told.

Liam Finch, prosecuting, said officers saw Frankum outside Tramps nightclub in Angel Place, Worcester, at about 1am on Tuesday, August 16.

Officers told him to go home which was “the best place for him”.

Mr Finch said: “Sadly for him he didn’t take that advice and about 20 minutes later police saw him again near McDonald’s, bouncing off parked cars and he was abusive to officers.

"In doing so, he puts himself in breach of a suspended sentence order.”

Magistrates were told the order was made for an unrelated incident of assaulting a police officer in November 2010.

Mark Lister, defending, said: “This is a very silly offence. It’s a very stupid attitude that he took when asked to leave by the officers and he must take the consequences.

“It had not dawned on him until I spoke to him this morning that he put himself at risk of going to prison.

“The offence speaks for itself. He has a very unattractive record.

"He was getting himself into trouble on a regular basis between 2004 and 2010.

“This offence was committed nearly 10 months after his last offence and is much less serious than the others which gives the hope that Wayne Frankum is finally beginning to grow up.”

Frankum, of Lower Chase Road, Malvern, was ordered to complete 40 hours’ unpaid work and was fined £35. He must also pay £50 costs.
