WORCESTER’S swan statue was welcomed back to the riverside by a visiting group from a twin town.
The city’s twinning association brought their friends from Kleve to visit the statue, which had been returned to its position on Kleve Walk after its column was repaired, as part of a week-long visit.
The swan is seen as an important symbol of friendship between Worcester and the German town, which have been twinned since 1987.
In total, 33 guests spent a week with hosts from Worcester’s Twinning Association, enjoying trips to Stratford-upon-Avon, Eastnor Castle and the Commandery.
A special social evening was also held, when the visitors and hosts all had home-made food, bingo and a big raffle.
