WORCESTER police station is to open its doors to the public.

South Worcestershire Territorial Policing Unit’s Headquarters in Castle Street is expecting thousands of visitors between 11am and 3pm on Sunday, September 11, for its first open day since September 2009 – which attracted about 2,000 people.

People can spend time in the cells with a trip around the custody block, see the latest fingerprint technology, meet police dogs and their handlers, take a peek behind the scenes around the station and see police officers at work and see how police support units operate.

People can also play detective and solve the clues in a mock crime scene. Officers will chat to and show people around police cars and motor cycles.
