A PARENT has called the Worcester News to say the reason they reacted was that the headteacher had showed children as young as eight a video called Ruth’s Story (see below).
She also said children had been told by the headteacher that they could not ask the girl questions about her change.
She said: “The parents are not against the child – it’s the fact that the children are being asked to treat her differently and watched a transgender video without any parents knowing.
“There are police down at the school every day. It’s becoming a circus show that didn’t need to be there.
“The whole school is up in arms because of the video. My kids came home and said ‘what are genitals?’ “Parents are not bigots. They are just concerned about the material the children have seen without their parents’ knowledge.”
The school stood by its stance that it was important to encourage discussion and promote understanding.
