AN inquest into the death of Roger Lamb, the father of four sons from Pensham, near Pershore, who died on holiday in Morocco, has been opened in Cheltenham and adjourned.
Acting coroner for Gloucestershire David Dooley was told on Monday that the cause of Mr Lamb’s death was a “blunt force trauma to the head”.
A spokesman for the coroner’s office said: “The 47-year-old was on holiday in Morocco when his wife had a fall and subsequently died of her injuries.
“The day after her death Mr Lamb is reported to have fallen in a hotel where he was staying. He fell down an internal staircase into a stairwell.
"He was taken to a specialist unit in Marrakesh where he died there the following day on August 22.”
His wife Tilly fell from a balcony in Essaouira where the family were staying. Her inquest was opened and adjourned last week in Wiltshire where both inquests will be resumed.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: “Our investigations are ongoing and the inquests are not likely to be resumed for some months.”
Mr Lamb’s body was repatriated to Cirencester where his funeral is being arranged by A Slade and Sons.
