THE church at Crediton is probably the finest for miles around. Constructed from a soothing, red sandstone the building is, if you will pardon the pun, a credit to the inhabitants.
There is a plaque in the church to Sir Redvers Buller, the commander-in-chief of British forces during the Boer War. I can remember a period when this Victorian soldier was once reviled as much as any First World War general. Time is a great healer.
