ELGAR Technology College is offering its prospective pupils' parents a new source of information this term.
As well as receiving the traditional school prospectus, students in Years 5 and 6 at local primary schools will receive a promotional DVD.
The DVD will include information for parents, a child-friendly film charting a year in the life of two new students and a rendition of the new school song, based on the Peter Kay version of Amarillo.
Elgar's head of drama, Samantha Roach, wrote and directed the DVD in conjunction with the Najojo Film Company. She said: "The project has allowed our Year 10 and 11 GCSE media and drama students to work alongside a professional crew in making and editing this film.
"It has been a brilliant experience for them."
All parents who attend the Elgar Technology College open evening on Wednesday, October 4, at 7.30pm will be able to watch the children's DVD and take a copy home with them.
