CITY students celebrated the 90th birthday of a well-known author.
Youngsters from schools across Worcester joined up to celebrate what would have been the 90th birthday of much-loved children's writer Roald Dahl.
Pupils from schools including Bishop Perowne, Alice Ottley and Nunnery Wood, met up at St Andrew's Methodist Church Hall in Pump Street last week to take part in a range of activities.
Linda Bromyard, the Bishop Perowne librarian who helped organise the day along with Julie Benkwitz from Alice Ottley, said it was part of the Worcester Children's Book Group, as well as part of a wider national event organised through the Children's Book Group Federation.
"They did 10 challenges including doing an Oompa Loompa dance and they had to wear something yellow. We had a birthday cake as well," she said.
"It's children from a variety of schools and we mixed the schools up so it wasn't schools versus schools, it was groups versus groups."
