A DEAD fox in a suburban garden has caused fur to fly after a homeowner was told nobody from the council could get rid of it.

Gayle Hornberger has been told she can bury the animal herself or throw it in her bin.

Mrs Hornberger looked out of the window of her home in Sabrina Walk, Northwick, Worcester, on Monday morning to see the dead animal in the middle of her lawn with a puncture wound in its side.

So she called the RSPCA to see if the charity could help dispose of the animal but they told her to call Worcester City Council through the Worcestershire Hub.

“They told me I would have to get rid of the fox myself or pay a pest control team to come and remove it,” she said.

“Unfortunately I don’t have the money to pay for someone to do it. It looks like I’ll have to bury it myself.”

However, the city council has said Mrs Hornberger could double-bag the dead animal and put it in the bin.

“As it is in someone’s garden we would not usually take it away,” said a council spokesman.

“People can either bury the animal or they can double-bag it and put it in the bin.”
