IT is National Fitness Day tomorrow and in a bid to help tackle the rising problem of obesity, youngsters are being encouraged to get dancing and have some fun.
Sports Xtra, one of the UK’s leading innovative sports development and health promotion organisations, has a number of different activities taking place in venues across the UK. One fun-filled event will be a street dance after-school club at St Mary’s School, Worcester.
The street dance club will teach children how to show off some moves on the dance floor with qualified dance instructors showing them some fantastic choreographed routines. The experienced coaches will deliver a professionally organised activity in a safe and structured environment.
Nicole Sterley, who is the owner of the Sports Xtra Midlands franchise, is really excited about the after-school club and hopes it will encourage more children to enjoy a range of different activities.
“Sports Xtra provides a safe environment where kids can play under trained supervision,” she said.
“We’ve tailored our programmes to ensure that our kids have fun first and foremost and get fit second. I can’t wait to begin the after-school clubs as they provide a great opportunity for children to take part in activities of interest to them that they wouldn’t ordinarily get to do.”
