THE sun shone on the plight of rescue cats yesterday as an animal charity’s rehoming show proved a big hit.

Visitors flocked to the Coppertops pub in Oldbury Road, St John’s, Worcester, to see cats wanting new homes.

And the Worcester and District branch of Cats Protection was delighted by the response from local people.

Fran Holder, manager of the branch shops in Worcester and Pershore, said: “We’ve had a huge amount of interest. We have found potential homes for 16 cats out of 17 including some who have been in care for a long time “I think people seeing the cats all in one place definitely made a difference.”
