REFRESHED from the summer break, it was time for quiz night.
Viv Jackman, president, welcomed teams from Oak Apple, Swanpool, Broomhall, Pumphouse and North Claines WIs and visitor Betty Hayley.
Business matters dispensed with, the quizmaster Nick Jackman was introduced, with Viv as his assistant for the evening.
This quiz was challenging and entertaining and eventually worthy winners were the Five Pears. Holding up the rest, Swanpool Swans were suitably rewarded for their efforts.
The raffle prize draw, as always, was quite splendid. Sue Oakley was the recipient of the first prize.
Beryl Lord thanked Nick and Viv for all their hard work and humour and Monica Smith thanked Comer WI for providing a most entertaining evening.
The next meeting will be the annual meeting on Wednesday, October 19, at 7.30pm at St David’s Hall.
