A COMMUNITY was brought together with a fantastic fireworks display, face-painting and football.
Between 2,000 and 3,000 children and adults turned up to the event on King George V playing field in Brickfields, Worcester, to watch the night sky light up last Thursday.
Before that, spectators cheered on as youngsters took on the local police team in a football match and beat them 7-1, while Youthcomm radio was also there.
Wayne Telford, facilities manager at King George V Community Centre, said: “The event went with a bang and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves. It was a great evening and a good way to bring the community together.”
While the event was free, donations made on the night will go towards future Worcester Community Trust events.
