SWIMMERS of all ages and abilities are being asked to dive in and raise money for charity in the new year.

St Richard’s Hospice’s swimathon will once again see people make a splash for cash.

The fund-raiser will take place at New College in Whittington Road, Worcester, from 12.30pm on Sunday, January 22, and all are welcome to attend.

Lizzie Brazier, the charity’s community fund-raiser, said: “Everyone is welcome to come along to the 25-metre pool to see how far they can swim in an allocated half-hour slot.

“Participants can either get sponsored per length or just for taking part.

“The lovely pool is warmer than most others so it would be great to have as many people as possible to get into the spirit and splash for cash.”

St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supports their families.

Each year the hospice team supports more than 2,200 patients and family members in Worcestershire.
