THE December meeting took the form of a show-and-tell session which provided an excellent opportunity to get to know both existing and new members and to talk about recent and ongoing individual work.
New members proved to have an exciting range of previous textile experience and skills.
Group challenges led by Venture members involved everyone in making an original Christmas card.
The annual Meadows’ Trophy cup with this years’ subject of Let’s Go Green was won by Sylvia Thistle with her beautiful innovative bag featuring strips of stitched Sari silk with a lining of coffee bag wrappers.
Commencing in February 2012, due to a considerable increase in membership numbers, the local guild is altering its meeting venue from the Friends Meeting House to Perdiswell Young Peoples’ Leisure Club, with a new starting time of 2pm with refreshments from 1.30pm.
The next meeting will be at the new venue on February 7, when the Venture Group will be telling us about their work.
