AN up-and-coming MC headbutted a fast food worker who spotted him dropping litter out of a car window.

Stefan Seymour, aged 19, of Farleigh Road, Pershore, had initially denied a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to an incident at Blackpole Retail Park, Worcester on September 15.

But that charge was dismissed when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, December 29 and Seymour – who performs under the name MC Sketcha – admitted a replacement charge of assault by beating.

Clare Linehan, prosecuting, said Nathan Maher, assistant manager of McDonald’s at Blackpole, was picking up litter in the car park at about 5pm.

He saw some rubbish near a car Seymour and a friend were in, but decided to pick it up and not say anything.

But when he returned and noticed more rubbish he approached the window and asked Seymour if they understood they were not meant to drop litter and could be fined.

Words were exchanged and it was alleged that Seymour spat some of his drink at Mr Maher – although he maintained it simply flicked out of his straw.

Mr Maher took the drink from Seymour who got out of the car and headbutted him “full force”. A scuffle ensued before the pair were pulled apart.

Ms Linehan said Seymour claimed Mr Maher “went mad” and pushed him before the headbutt, but accepted his actions were not in self-defence.

Seymour also admitted charges of resisting a policeman and using threatening and abusive behaviour relating to an incident in Worcester on November 1. Ms Linehan said he had become aggressive after police spotted him pushing and arguing with his girlfriend.

She said Seymour had drunk eight pints of strong lager and could not remember being aggressive.

“This was an unusually large amount for him. It does cause him problems and he has issues with anger,” she said.

Defending, Gary Harper said Seymour was remorseful and acknowledged he needed help.

Seymour said that he had not drunk since the incident.

Chairman of the bench Paul Vaughan adjourned sentencing until Friday, January 6.
