AN English teacher will turn fund-raising on its head when he makes an unconventional journey across the Malvern Hills.
Jon Smallwood, deputy head at Bredon School, near Upton-upon-Severn, is planning to perform 100 headstands in the sponsored eight-mile walk – that’s one every 176 yards.
The walk, which will take place on Friday, March 30, is being held to raise money for charities including the All Terrain Bike Responder Unit.
Mr Smallwood is also hoping to raise at least £500 for CLIC Sergeant; a charity very close to his heart.
Three years ago, he had leukaemia diagnosed but is now in remission after having chemotherapy.
Mr Smallwood said: “I am only good at teaching and headstands. I’ve never done 100 in a day but they’re pretty easy.”
