A FIRE which tore through a Worcester nursery was caused by an electrical fault it has been confirmed.
The fire which ripped through KinderKare nursery, in Greenhill, off London Road, on Sunday night has been recorded as accidental by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service's fire investigator and is believed to have started in a communal staff area.
As we reported yesterday, a woman had to be rescued from an adjoining flat after the fire broke out in the first floor and roof space of the two storey building at about 6.30pm.
She was treated for smoke inhalation and taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Up to 50 firefighters from across Worcestershire were drafted into tackle the blaze and London Road was closed for four hours while they brought it under control.
Crews were still at the scene yesterday damping down hotspots.
