WORCESTERSHIRE singing sensation Becky Hill is safely through to the next round of BBC talent show The Voice.

The 18-year-old sang up-tempo number Good Luck by Basement Jaxx on Saturday night’s show and was kept in the running by the public vote.

But the positive reaction and support from the nation is something Becky says she hasn’t always had.

“I am over the moon,” said the Bewdley singer. “It is nice to know the public want me and want to hear my voice. I could’ve been in the bottom two and that would have been heart breaking.

“I am a bit of a social recluse. I like other people but they don’t always like me but I have made so many friends on the show.”

On Saturday night’s show the singer received rave reviews across the coaching panel with her coach Jessie J saying she “made the song her own”.

While front man of The Script, Danny O’Donoghue, said: “You have an incredibly smoky tone. I would go and buy your record in a heartbeat. You brought your A game tonight.”

“It has been absolutely mental,” said Becky. “I am quite a hyperactive person anyway so be on the stage is on another level. This is my adventure. I have packed my bags and moved to London and it has been amazing.

“But they are all behind me at home. I think it was Bewdley voting last night. I don’t think I would have got through otherwise.”

She will face the public vote again in two weeks time when team Jessie next take to the stage.
