A MAN has appeared in court this morning charged with sexual assault and two kidnaps.

Thomas Clark, aged 20, of Barbourne Road, Worcester appeared before magistrates.

He is charged with kidnap (falsely imprisoning a person with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence on April 24), sexual assault on a female (sexual touching of a female over the age of 16 without her consent) on May 6 and a further charge of kidnap (falsely imprisoning a person with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence) which also relates to May 6.

The allegation involves two incidents, the first on Tuesday, April 24 at a bus stop on Barbourne Road, Worcester, and the second on Sunday, May 6 at Sansome Walk, Worcester, close to Worcester Baptist Church.

The case was prosecuted by Kiernan Cunningham and Clark was represented by Sam Lamsdale who made no application for bail.

Magistrates formally committed the case to Worcester Crown Court for a hearing on Monday, August 20.
