AS Diamond Jubilee celebrations take place across Worcester residents will need to remember to leave their black bin out one day later than normal.

Due to the two bank holidays there will be some temporary changes to the city council’s domestic refuse service.

The black bin must still be placed outside by 7am on the day of collection, which will be the day after it would be in a normal week.

Normal service will resume on Tuesday, June 12.

The garden waste collection will take place as usual on Monday.

There will be no commercial refuse collections on Monday but services will resume on Tuesday.

The city council said crews will catch up as soon as possible and are aiming to have the backlog completed by Friday.

There will also be no bulky household collections on Monday while services scheduled for Wednesday remain unaffected.

Saturday residential skip service’s are not impacted over the weekend and the provision of skips will remain in place at the Community Centre on Shap Drive between 8am and midday and at the New Inn car park, Ombersley Road from 8am until 10am for the depositing of household waste.
