A MAN who was rescued from the river Avon by the emergency services on Sunday night has died.
Carl Schmidt, aged 47, dived into the river at Corporation Meadow at Hampton near Evesham just before 7pm on Sunday but became injured and suffered a cardiac arrest.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition but died today.
